Finding Joy

“Joy is always in process, it’s under construction, it is in constant approach in the doing of what we are fashioned to do.”

Joy can seem ever elusive then suddenly appear in our lives in a variety for forms. If even for a fleeting moment that we experience joy, it is enough to make us want more.

Joy can seem like an endless pursuit and even if we cannot grasp it, we want to continue pursuing it. That’s what joy is, it keeps us coming back for more and wanting to find more of it.

The closer we are to living what we are fashioned to do, the closer we are to finding joy more consistently in our lives. So, the questions that we have to ask ourselves are:

What truly brings me joy?
How am I living my life in a way that allows me to find more joy?

In living, working, and playing each day, how are we choosing to be reflective and quiet in order to self-assess our levels of joy? There is no doubt that we deserve to be happy and to experience joy. But, it’s in our hands to be present with ourselves each day in a way that allows us to genuinely make the changes needed to find more joy.

As you reflect on your week? When did you experience the most joy? How did it feel? How long did it last? What do you need to do to find more of it?
